We are seeking a Senior Quantity surveyor with strong mining or engineering experience for a high-profile role in Johannesburg.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all quantity surveying activities for mining and engineering projects
Prepare and review cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents
Monitor project budgets, track costs, and report variances
Ensure compliance with FIDIC/NEC contracts and contractual obligations
Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to resolve commercial issues
Provide advice on project risk, cost optimization, and procurement strategies
Mentor and guide junior QS staff
Requirements:
BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying
10+ years experience as a Mining / Engineering QS
Preferably PrQS registered
Strong experience with FIDIC / NEC contracts
Excellent commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills
Strong project management and stakeholder communication abilities
Ability to work independently and under pressure on complex projects
