Our client, based in Sandton, is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial performance across their portfolio.
This is a senior role reporting directly into the Commercial Manager, and taking responsibility for a Quantity Surveyor and Junior Quantity Surveyor.The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a regular and visible presence on-site as part of their core responsibilities.
Drive profitability across multiple projects.
Maintain cost alignment from tender through to final account.
Identify and mitigate financial risks early.
Manage accurate cost reporting and payment cycles.
Interpret and administer main and subcontract agreements.
Lead claims preparation and dispute resolution processes.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and legislation.
Administer guarantees, cessions, penalties, and insurance.
Oversee valuations, variation management, and final accounts.
Manage site storage, cost coding, plant, and asset reconciliations.
Ensure alignment between budgets and allowables through cost reports.
Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
Negotiate subcontracts and manage performance.
Present cost and claim updates to key internal and external stakeholders.
Lead and develop a Quantity SurveyingΒ team through mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
Drive a high-performance culture rooted in accountability and trust.
Facilitate team alignment with strategic and commercial objectives.
Matric.
Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying (Degree or Diploma).
Technical Quantity Surveying experience, with proven experience in a senior/lead role.
Proven experience working across complex construction projects.
Professional registration (ASAQS or similar) preferred.
Proficiency in Candy, BuildSmart, Excel and relevant systems.
Commercial mindset, strong attention to detail and solid reporting ability.
