Introduction

Our client is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic building company. This is a senior-level role, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and residential projects while contributing to the growth and success of a reputable construction business.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for building projects.
  • Manage contract administration and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Monitor project costs, variations, and cash flows throughout the construction process.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost management.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QS staff.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks on projects.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a background in building/construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and project management.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and project documentation accurately.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Registration with SACQSP or eligibility to register is an advantage.
