AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor  to join our team in one of our offices in Dublin, Cork, or Galway.

What You’ll Do

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major infrastructure projects  in Ireland. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile transportation, utilities, aviation, energy, and public infrastructure programmes within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing commercial and cost management services throughout all project phases, ensuring effective financial control, value optimisation, and successful project outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver quantity surveying and cost management services across major infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, tender documentation, and procurement reports.
  • Manage cost planning and cost control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Administer contracts and support procurement activities in line with project requirements.
  • Evaluate tenders, variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs, cash flow, and commercial performance against approved budgets.
  • Support risk management and value engineering initiatives to optimise project delivery.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
  • Prepare commercial reports and provide accurate financial forecasting to project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, governance standards, and industry best practices.
  • Mentor junior quantity surveyors and contribute to team development initiatives.

Qualifications

Ready to push the boundaries of what’s possible?

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with SCSI, RICS, or equivalent professional body.
  • Strong experience in quantity surveying and cost management within infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Knowledge of standard forms of contract including NEC and Public Works Contracts.
  • Experience in cost estimating, procurement, contract administration, and commercial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
