We specialise in commercial and industrial general contracting, tender negotiations, and turnkey project development across the Western Cape.

Backed by a team of over 40 dedicated employees, a robust balance sheet, and extensive plant assets, we manage multiple major projects simultaneously. As our senior executives plan their retirement over the medium-term horizon, we are executing a strategic succession plan. We are looking for an ambitious, high-calibre professional to step into this structure, drive our commercial divisions, and transition into business management and equity ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership

  • Project Oversight: Manage the legal and financial health of diverse commercial and industrial projects across Cape Town.

Contract Administration

  • Framework Mastery: Manage all contractual mechanisms, maintaining strict alignment with the JBCC suite.
  • Variations & Claims: Check, review and endorse all financial components of Contract Instructions, Compensation Events, and Extensions of Time.

Financial Management

  • Fiscal Controls: Lead project feasibility studies, cash-flow forecasting, precise monthly valuations, and final account negotiations.
  • Budget Tracking: Enforce strict adherence to project budgets, program schedules, and cash-flow constraints.
  • Certifications: Review and endorse subcontractor payment certificates, vendor invoices, and Professional Service Provider (PSP) fee claims.
  • Appointments Review: Audit initial appointments, additional fees, and related contractual variations.

Procurement & Tendering

  • Margin Protection: Drive strategic subcontractor procurement and pricing frameworks to safeguard project margins.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate procurement operations for contractors, consultants, and PSPs.
  • Performance Audits: Oversee and manage ongoing consultant and contractor performance milestones.

Executive Mentorship & Succession

  • Operations Mastery: Work closely with the current Directors to internalise operational business processes, financial governance, client relations, and company culture.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Experience: Minimum of 10–15 years of proven experience as a Construction Quantity Surveyor, with a heavy emphasis on Project Management and Procurement within commercial or industrial construction markets.
  • Qualifications: BSc or BTech degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Candy Construction Computer Software: Proficiency in the use of Candy for Estimating and Valuations.
  • Microsoft Suite of Software: Proficiency in the use of Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Contracts Expertise: Iron-clad, expert-level operational knowledge of JBCC contract suites and construction law.
  • Mindset: Strong commercial acumen, entrepreneurial drive, natural leadership qualities and the long-term goal to run a construction enterprise.
