About this role


 


The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for verifying, managing and controlling all project data and documentation related to the construction of renewable energy projects. This role involves providing on-site quantity surveying expertise to support project cost management and claims control. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project teams to ensure efficient data management and accurate project reporting




Duties and responsibilities 


 


Data Management and Control





  • Implement data management systems and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient data storage, retrieval, and reporting.

  • Ensure the security and integrity of project data, implementing data protection measures as necessary.




Quantity Surveying





  • Provide site-based quantity surveying expertise to support project cost management, including claims verification, cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting.

  • Conduct detailed measurements and take-offs from project drawings and specifications.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of project quantities and costs, ensuring alignment with project budgets and contracts.


 


Cost Control and Reporting





  • Monitor project costs and expenditures, ensuring adherence to project budgets and financial plans.

  • Prepare and submit regular cost reports, highlighting any variances and potential cost-saving opportunities.

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement cost control measures.




Collaboration and Coordination





  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure data accuracy and project coordination.

  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to obtain and verify project data and documentation.

  • Participate in project meetings, providing updates on data management, document control, and cost management.


 


Training and Support





  • Provide training and support to project teams on data management and document control procedures.

  • Assist project teams in using data management software and tools effectively.

  • Promote a culture of data accuracy and integrity within the project team.


 


Required skills and education background.





  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying and data management within the construction industry, including hands-on site-based experience

  • Strong knowledge of data management systems, document control procedures, and quantity surveying principles.

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in data management and quantity surveying software and tools.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
