We are looking for a motivated Junior On-Site Quantity Surveyor who is eager to grow their career while gaining valuable experience on active construction projects.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a developing Quantity Surveyor to work alongside experienced construction professionals and gain practical exposure to the commercial management of construction projects.

The successful candidate will assist with site measurements, cost administration, subcontractor accounts, project valuations and commercial documentation while ensuring projects remain on budget and commercially well managed.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure completed work on active construction sites.
  • Assist with monthly valuations and payment certificates.
  • Verify subcontractor claims.
  • Monitor project costs and maintain cost records.
  • Assist with pricing contract variations.
  • Maintain commercial and project documentation.
  • Interpret construction drawings and Bills of Quantities.
  • Attend site meetings and site inspections.
  • Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Construction Team.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma, BTech or BSc in Quantity Surveying.
  • 1–3 years' Quantity Surveying experience.
  • Exposure to active construction sites.
  • Ability to read construction drawings.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Own reliable transport.
  • Knowledge of Bills of Quantities

Advantageous

  • Experience with BuildSmart or Candy.
  • Exposure to JBCC contracts.
  • SACQSP Candidate Registration.
  • Experience on commercial or residential building projects.
