Introduction


ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a mechanical and structural engineering contractor. They design, model, manufacture (including modular and off-site packages) and install work for data centres, pharmaceutical and biopharma, battery, medical devices, high-tech, logistics, power and industrial clients internationally.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This role offers direct commercial ownership of M&E work packages on complex projects for the client, working closely with operational teams to protect margin and manage cost from procurement through to final account.

Duties & Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the commercial performance of mechanical and electrical work packages.
• Prepare budgets, cost plans, forecasts, cash-flow reports and cost-to-complete updates.
• Support procurement, tender analysis, subcontract negotiation and package placement.
• Administer subcontract accounts, valuations, variations, payment notices and final accounts.
• Identify, value and maintain clear records of change, risk and commercial entitlement.
• Work with project, engineering and procurement teams to protect programme and margin.
• Maintain auditable records and provide timely, concise reporting to commercial leadership.

Desired Experience & Qualification


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• 5-8 years' quantity surveying experience.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related commercial discipline.
• Relevant experience on mechanical, electrical or building services projects.
• Sound knowledge of subcontract administration, valuation, variation and final-account processes.
• Strong numerical, contractual, organisational and negotiation skills.
• Competence with standard commercial and reporting software.

DESIRABLE ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
• Experience on data centre, industrial or advanced-manufacturing projects.
• Knowledge of off-site fabrication and installation-led MEP delivery.
• International project experience (e.g. Gulf, Africa or other multi-country delivery) is a strong advantage.
• Willingness to relocate internationally and work across global project locations.
