Quantity Surveyor

Introduction

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support the successful delivery of construction and road infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cost management, measurements, valuations, contractual administration, procurement support, and ensuring that projects are delivered within approved budgets.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in compiling tenders BOQ and pricing it from scratch on market related rates, experience in road construction will be advantageous
  • Evaluating and appointment of subcontractors
  • Apply financial contractual matters within the awarded tenders
  • Take responsibility for accepting budget and tender data from successful tenders into the company accounting/Reporting system
  • Ability to analyse project variations and changes, prepare project reports, analyse information for adjustments to project budget as necessary to ensure a successful project for the company
  • Site cost management, ensuring that all costs are aligned with the bill of quantities
  • Control of project variations and approval process with client and subcontractors
  • Site measurements
  • Site correspondence with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring payments and final accounts are managed efficiently
  • Manages and leads actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Management
  • Minimum 5 years ‘experience and registered as a candidate or PRQS
  • Construction estimating or finance experience is advantageous
  • Have detailed knowledge and understanding of tendering and procurement processes
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Sound knowledge of construction
  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organise, plan and strategize
  • Great networking abilities
  • A valid driver’s license
