We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence, safety, and client satisfaction. We are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team.

Role Summary

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the project surveyor and the wider commercial team in managing and overseeing financial and contractual aspects of our construction projects. This role involves ensuring effective financial control and contributing to the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Management: Assist in costing activities and utilise a working knowledge of the cost coding structure for the project.
  • Measurement and Valuation: Measure completed works for allocated project sections, prepare and submit valuations and final accounts, and manage payments.
  • Subcontractor Management: Place subcontract orders and manage subcontractor accounts, ensuring compliance with the main contract.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate site records, produce necessary financial and surveying information for senior management, and assist in monthly performance review meetings.
  • Client and Team Communication: Liaise with customer representatives and team members to ensure effective communication and a cohesive working environment.
  • Support and Development: Provide support to operations staff on surveying matters and contribute to ICT development.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure high personal safety and environmental standards in line with company policy and maintain a suitable filing system for documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: BSc or HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Working towards CIOB or RICS accreditation would be great.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
